BIOGRAPHY

Maxime did his ballet education at the Conservatory of Avignon, then CNSMD in Paris, before gratuating at the John Cranko Akademie in Stuttgart with the teacher Piotr Antonovtich Pestov. He started dancing with the Stuttgart Ballet directed by Reid Anderson, then joined the Royal Ballet of Flanders with Kathryn Bennetts and the Wiener Staatsballett directed by Manuel Legris.

He received after a formation at the Centre National de la Danse the state french diplôme for ballet teacher, completing his dance work with several coachings and guest teaching interventions.

He joined the Ballet de l’Opera de Nice with Eric Vu-An and performed at the Tivoli Ballet Theater for the yearly production of the Nutcracker from Peter Bo Bendixon. Guest artist with the Ballet West UK and the Roma City Ballet, he performed as well with the Cape Town City Ballet in productions such as Giselle, Cinderella, Mozart and Salieri, and with the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe with Bridget Breiner. From his participation to ballet competitions Maxime was awarded Gold Medal in Chausson d’Or Paris and Prix Gabriel in Bruxelles, 3rd place in Helsinki and Grand Prix in the Istanbul International competition. He also performed in galas such as the Noureev Festival in Kazan and Riga’s Baltic Ballet Festival.

Maxime started choreographing and received distinctions for his pieces « On The Thread » in Varna International Ballet Competition, a dance solo later performed with Royal Ballet of Flanders, and « Le Petit Prince » at the Valentina Kozlova International Ballet Competition in New York. Since then he has been creating pieces for companies and free lance dancers, including a collaboration for a fashion show, with the artist Lia Kemendi, presenting 2021's Anja Gockel's season. In 2016 he was charged from the City of Arles in a collaboration with Mrs. Brigitte Lipari, of the organisation and the artistic direction of the event « Ballet Gala » at the Antic Theater in Arles.

Maxime stoped dancing for a while in a period of time where, inspired and moved by particular different purposes around healing methods, he followed a formation in awakening dreams, astrology and group facilitating. This new approach led him to develop new approaches of dance pedagogy, uniting subconscious to movement.

After the Covid period, Maxime started directing short dance films with inspiring dancers Carolin Steitz, Daniel Rittoles, Balkiya Zhanburchinova and Julian Botnarenko. Excentric and original places are always a particular artistic choice to share dance stories through the camera. 5 short dance films were created since 2021, receiving 28 official selections and prices at international film festivals worldwide,  You can find more of his upcoming works by subscribing his you tube channel : Maxime Mathieu Quiroga - YouTube.
